Jackson Memorial (2025)
The 2024 - 2025 Jackson Memorial Lady Jags are currently 11-0 on the season, and have won Team Tournaments at the Queen of the East, Lady Bears Invitational, Elizabeth Minutemen Tournament, the Queen of the Hill Dual Team Tournament, and the Shore Conference Tournament. The Lady Jags are led by State Placers Madison Rucci, Ava Bonilla, Marlowe Donato, Briana Dugo and Dominique Lopez, and are coached by Joe Lemke, Diana Strizki and Tyisha Willis.
The 2024 - 2025 Newton Lady Braves are currently 10-1 on the season and 27-3 over the past 3 seasons. Lady braves are 2x defending NJAC Champions and 3x Defending HWS Champions.
The North Brunswick Township High School girls wrestling team is currently 15-3 in the 2024-25 season under Head Coach David J. Saley. Their season began with 3 wrestlers placing at the Beast of the East tournament (DE), each earning HS All-American status. Then, they secured 2nd overall as a team at the Rumble in the Pines tournament, and they dominated the Greater Middlesex Conference (GMC) championship to come in at 1st place overall as Middlesex County team champions with 5 finalists, two individual champions, and 14 placewinners. They continue to compete with guts and determination, aiming to perform their best at the state sectional tournament with captains Rahkai Degrasse (19-5), Gabrielle Roberts (24-5), and Melani Contreras (25-7) leading the way.
Ramsey has a group of 12 hardworking girls, they are balanced throughout their lineup and make opponents work for every point. They have compiled a team record of (16-3) which includes two of their loses coming by criteria loses. They are headlined by senior captain Gretchen Quast (24-5). Their 7 juniors are the core of the program, which includes Isabella santanocito (15-13), Reese Rotonde (21-5), Elizabeth Pannuccio (21-3), Yulie Harada (9-9), Emma Cabrera (9-13), Paige Berger (19-5), and Francesca Muia (18-5). These girls are battle tested and work hard for every win. Our 4 sophomores round out our lineup with Rachel Greenberg (12-13), Vanessa Colon (10-13), Aarly DeLaCruz (4-4), and Gemma Meyer (10-14).
North Hunterdon Girls wrestling has 30 girls on the roster with 4 girls taking 4th in their respective region and 1 state place winner from the 2023/2024 season. Our girls team started in 2019 with just 11 girls and has almost tripled since. This year's team is now the most winningest team in North Hunterdon history. Lead by head coach, Dan Pepe, and many assistant coaches, North is excited for the opportunity to participate in the first ever girls team states! With a team motto this year of "leave a legacy", our girls are looking to not only leave their legacy in North Hunterdon but also on the sport and state itself!
The Morris Hills Girls Wrestling team completed their regular season with a record of 13-5.
They have faced some of the best wrestling in the state throughout the year and are battle tested for the upcoming team tournament.
The East Brunswick Girls Wrestling Team are Greater Middlesex Conference Red Division Champions and 16-6 in dual meets heading into the Team State Tournament. They almost doubled their previous seasons roster with 30 girls on the team this year. The Bears had 12 medalists (including one champion) at the GMC tournament this year. The Bears are led by Senior Captains Arielle Holeman and April Sarmiento, and also include state-ranked 107 pounder Olivia Mitchell, Juniors Soleil Nguyen, Marisol Torra, Emily Cuomo, and Olivia Belen. Sophomore Ari Demaio and first year standout Faith Soto are integral to the Bears lineup. In what was thought to be a rebuilding year with a very young team and only 6 returners in the starting line-up, the Bears were still able to find success at the state level. They look to finish out the dual meet season strong and build on their successful with a strong individual showing at Regions and States!
In their first official season as a girls’ program in dual meets, the Lady Lions of Gloucester executed an astonishing feat, concluding the regular season with a record of 23-0. This remarkable achievement has earned them a #2 ranking in the state of New Jersey and the #3 seed at the upcoming state tournament. This special group of girls is led by captains Kloi Tighe, Alexis Nelson, Madeline Boyd, Catalina Santiago, and Lauren Parry, under the leadership of Head Coach Fran Smythe.
Notably, Kloi Tighe is a standout athlete with three previous state placements, while Catalina Santiago returns after finishing 7th in the state last year. The Lady Lions participated in more dual meets than any other team in New Jersey, showcasing their commitment by traveling extensively across the state. Throughout their impressive season, they defeated several ranked teams, solidifying their reputation. Each wrestler competed in over ten matches, with an impressive 15 wrestling in 20+ matches.
The season began at the prestigious Beast of the East tournament, where Catalina Santiago, Mya Fleetwood, and Gabriella Maldonado captured 7th and 8th place finishes. Following that, they secured 9th place at the EB Lady Bears Invite before embarking on their dual meet journey. It was here that the team truly elevated their performance and consistency. Their momentum continued as they competed at the Garden State Duals, ultimately claiming the championship title.
Now, the Lady Lions are poised to compete for a state championship this Sunday among a highly competitive field of 11 other teams. They are the only team representing South Jersey, highlighting the uniqueness of this group and the high level of competition in New Jersey. This season has been nothing short of exceptional, and the Lady Lions are ready to leave their mark on the state tournament!
High Point Regional High School's women’s wrestling team has significantly progressed during the 2024-2025 season. Building upon previous successes, the team has continued to showcase their dedication and skill on the mat with a record of nine and two.
The team is led by sophomore Ella Poalillo (25-0), last year's state champ, and freshman Elle Changaris (28-1). Both women have continued to excel in their weight classes and have been instrumental in the team's performance this season.
We are a young team with a promising future. This season has been one of growth and cohesion, and we look forward to finishing the season on a positive note and further establishing ourselves as a formidable presence in women's high school wrestling.
The 2024 - 2025 Vernon Lady Vikings are currently 11-7 on the season, and took 2nd right behind Newton (#2) at the NJAC Tournament and 2nd at the Bloomfield Tournament. Vernon has had significant dual wins over High Point seeded 7th, Morris Hills seeded 6th and Newton seeded 2nd. Lady Vikings are led by State Placers Lily Henderson, Natalie Tucker, Caitlin Hart (3x) and are coached by Ashley & Kevin Gocklin.
The PCTI Bulldogs are located in Wayne, NJ, but accept students from all over Passaic County. The program, which originated last year, is dedicated to helping these female student athletes grow both on and off the mat. In the these 2 years, the team has drawn many young women to the sport of wrestling, making the Lady Bulldogs one of the largest programs in the state, with a total of almost 50 female wrestlers this season.
Under the leadership of their senior captains, Linda Barrera, Vanessa Feola, and Destiny Rivera, and Head Coach Dan Smith the ‘24-’25 Bulldogs worked their way to a 12-4 regular season record against some of the best competition in NJ and are excited to be ranked amongst the top of NJ’s Women’s Wrestling teams in just the 2nd year of the program’s history.
The Ridgefield Park Lady Scarlets wrestling team finished the regular season with a 12-3 record and won the 1st annual Lady Cutter Classic this season. The Scarlets are led by four returning wrestlers in juniors Emelia Gutierrez (15-10), Rachael Magalhaes (13-5), Sophia Garcia (16-3) and sophomore Bella Vargas (20-6) and are coached by head coach Jimmy Suess and assistant coach Uly Encarnacion. Eight first time wrestlers including Ashlie Nagle (11-7), Carrolina Estrada (11-4), Layla Thomas (11-9), Gabby Correa (20-7), and Ashley Vilela (18-5) have stepped in during their first season on the mat and delivered. Izzy Gomero, Elena Stebovich, Jaralee Rodriguez, Ava Montes de Oca round out the newcomers that have helped propel the team to a successful season. With only two seniors, the Scarlets have continued to grow all season and are looking to grow the sport in their hometown.
